Humble beginnings.

Our owner Anitra Fulton began teaching swim lessons each season as "Swim Fanatics" in 1999 as a sole proprietor during the summer months of May-September outdoors in the neighborhood pool of Henson Farms in Summerfield, NC.

Room to Grow.

In 2009, Swim Fanatics moved from the college to Hayes-Taylor YMCA for a 9 months stretch while we built our custom dome over Sherwood Swim & Racquet Club. Under our dome, we were able to grow our swim programs to house over 450 swimmers each session and grew in popularity.

A Higher Sense of Purpose.

In 2018 Swim Fanatics partnered with Wake Forest University and began expanding into the Winston-Salem area with a Swim Lessons Program on the WFU Campus. By Spring of 2019, Swim Fanatics was teaching swim programming to over 2000 swimmers.

In 2007 she took a leap of faith and began running Swim Fanatics indoors as a year round program at Greensboro College Pool. With only 22 young and eager swimmers, Swim Fanatics quickly grew in programming.

Anitra Incorporated Swim Fanatics in the early months of 2007 and hired instructors.

In early May, Anitra hired Sasha Kuznezov as the Head Coach and began a USA Swim Team. Swim Fanatics programming quickly expanded and we began offering a summer swim camp for children ages 2-12 at Burmil Park. Swim Fanatics was making its mark!

After a fall storm caused a massive rip in our dome, Swim Fanatics transitioned back to Greensboro College in 2013 and continued to grow in both size and in reputation as a solid program in the Triad. Shortly there after, Coach Katie McNerney came on board as a part-time coach for SFSC Team.

Excitingly, Anitra Fulton was voted in as the "top Mom who owns her own business award" by Triad Mom's on Main and our program grew to over 700 swimmers. Swim Fanatics moved to UNCG in 2017 and our team began swimming at the GAC.

In the early summer months of 2019, Swim Fanatics partnered with the City of Greensboro's Parks & Recreation Department to begin swim lessons, water fitness classes and a Summer League at Lindley Pool.

Swim Fanatics is investing in a pool of our own. We plan to remain at UNCG until that build-out is complete in Fall of 2020!
